We were all kids once and, even when we’re all grown up, we still feel like kids most of the time.
So what happens when a big kid is put in charge of a little kid? This blog aims to find out.
Join with me and we’ll laugh a lot, cry a little and experience just about every other emotion in between.
But being a parent is not just about being a parent (bear with me). It’s about the struggle to find some space and time to have a life for yourself away from being a parent. We all understand the feeling of not being totally in control of events. Sometimes all you can do is sit back and try to enjoy the ride.
I spent 20 years working in an office as a journalist. The hours were long. One day I realised I’ve got one go at being a parent and I’m messing it up. I decided to give up full-time work to spend more time with my son. I’m financially poorer but emotionally richer. It was both the craziest and the best thing I’ve ever done.
When I’m not being a daddy or blogging I try to scrape a living through writing, some consultancy work, some training, some public speaking, some modern dance (ok, I made the last one up).
But most of all I love to tell stories. I can only really think properly in stories and they are everywhere, everyday in life.
If you love stories too then come along on this adventure with me. It’s very important to me to hear from the people who read my work so please contact me whichever way you prefer.
That’s enough about me. Children always say the wisest things and my son often tells me ‘That’s enough work daddy, it’s playtime!’
